Service Description

Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy is one of the most commonly used types of behavioral support in school and home settings. At Charlie's Porch Tutoring Center we would like to incorporate ideas used in ABA, but also strive to teach behavioral support using other techniques. We believe that everyone learns differently, and we want to encourage all forms of education.  At Charlie's Porch Tutoring Center, we primarily focus on providing support for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD), and learning disorders such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. For example, we would suggest using fidgets/sensory tactile to help decrease behaviors associated with ADHD/ADD. When addressing learning disorders such as Dyslexia, we would encourage the use of a specific color of paper/fonts. However, there is no one set of techniques that can be used for every child, so we will work to find the best individual methods for each student.  Furthermore, our community engagement program goes hand in hand with behavior support because it is designed to promote positive reinforcements for accomplishing behavior and/or educational goals. We want to help students recognize that they can overcome any adversity they may face and reach their goals.
